Who is Chumworth? Perhaps the better quesiton is “What is Chumworth?” Or “Where is Chumworth?” Or “When is Chumworth?” Or - you guessed it - “Why is Chumworth?” But if you insist on sticking with your original question, it’s really quite simple.

I’m a comedy writer. That is to say, I try to write things that make people laugh. For the vast majority of people life basically sucks. If you’re laughing, even for a brief second, life doesn’t suck so much. So, if you came to this site and read something that made you laugh, then I feel good because I’ve helped to make that small moment of your life a little less crappy.

My main gig right now is as a freelance monlogue joke writer for The Late Show with David Letterman. I’ve also written jokes for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and contributed material to The Colbert Report. My jokes have been published in such fine publications as The New York Times, TV Guide, Entertainment Weekly and The New York Post. I’ve also performed stand up comedy, though while I was certainly standing, some people might dispute whether it was actually comedy.
